I love this movie but I have been having a problem with the blu-ray. I haven't been able to find anything about this problem elsewhere, so I'm just going to vent here and hope someone knows about it. In the Quaritch fight scene, when he pops the canopy on his suit, the picture cuts out for about 10 seconds. I'm using a PS3 and a 50 inch Philips DLP HDTV. I've actually exchanged the disc once, and this one still does it. I would be grateful to anyone who could tell me anything about this.

well, I bought the Blu-ray and DVD combo, and the blu-ray looks AMAZING on my 52" plasma. I also successfully ripped the blu-ray in full quality (took a whole weekend), so I can play it on my 1366X768 resolution netbook, for on the go. on any screen I put it on, the detail is AMAZING!! I definitely love this movie, and the Blu-Ray is just top notch. I definitely recommend this to anyone with a blu-ray player. and if you don't have one, it's time to get one. and an HDTV.

@DaveSimonH I may defend the Matrix sequels, but the title for "finest trilogy ever made" belong to the Lord of the Rings and Toy Story trilogies in a tie because each one was a little better than the last. In the Matrix series, even though Reloaded was good mindless fun, the Animatrix served as a nice backstory to the franchise, and Revolutions was one of the most underrated sequels in my opinion, the first is the best I'll admit. Just because I have a different opinion doesn't make me stupid.

@MadDogMeh If you didn't notice already...it's only multiplats that have HUGE installations (which proves that devs care more about xbox 360). PS3 exclusives have 0 - almost nothing in installations. Uncharted 2 - No installation (for those arguing on slow bluray speeds..think again...Uncharted 2 has NO loading times). Killzone to has around 1mb (or slightly larger cant remember). If they made GTA 5 PS3 exclusive...no installation. Forza on xbox has a gigantic installation.

If only rockstar could find a way to split GTA 5 over 3 DVDs. I was quite disappointed with GTA IV's single player...it was always the same mission (chase him and kill him...chase him and kill him...kill this guy...gets annoying). I guess it's because of the lack of DVD space (SA had better missions). If GTA 5 isn't PS3 exclusive im gna be angry.

This means that you are not guranteed that every xbox user has a HDD (so GTA 5 cannot be HDD unless it's PS3 exclusive). Yeah GTA IV had to be compressed the sh** outta to make it fit on DVD. And remember....GTA 5 HAS TO BE bigger than gta iv so...yh sorry xbox users it's PS3 exclusive no question about it. Unless xbox 720 comes out.

Please do not listen to that idiot cojkor1. The first models to hit the stores were not 1080p (A1 & XA1). Their 2nd Generation players i.e. XA2, were Full 1080p. It always amazes me how morons like to go online and talk about things they know nothing about. Other then Capacity, HD DVD was more advanced then Blu-ray in almost every way (Mandatory Ethernet Port, Region Free, better Interactive features with HDi). It took a while for Blu to catch up.

HD-DVD's backbone made use of some proprietary technologies, including some by Microsoft such as HDi. Inclusion of the technologies required by HD-DVD would mean licensing costs that must be passed on to the end user. And as it'd likely only be purchased by those who have HD-DVDs, mass producing such a player wouldn't be worth it considering the cost.

According to the HD-DVD standard, one of the supported modes is 1080p. Blu-Ray Disc isn't the only format to support 1080p video and it's not the only standard to support it, either. The PlayStation 3 and the XBox 360 also support 1080p so long as the software is programmed to support it and the gaming system is connected via HDMI. 1080p is just a label for the resolution scanned in progressive: 1080 horizontal lines or 1920x1080 in pixels. Nobody holds exclusivity of that.

That is incorrect. Models HD-EP30, HD-EP10 as well as HD-EP35 (all from Toshiba) supported 1080p. A real shame that Toshiba didn't include HD DVD playback on this machine.

I own the Vizio Blu Ray player. I really love it. Just make sure your discs are clean so it can read. I use redbox to rent DVDs and sometimes the discs are a little scratched and I must clean them to avoid skipping. I highly recommend the Vizio blu-ray player. I am watching it on a 65" Mitsubishi DLP. $1200 for the TV, $200 for the player. Got an open box Yamaha receiver for $160 (I had speakers from a broken Sony). 5.1 sound is ok for the size of my room.

I have a burner that says "RW DVD+R DL". I also have DVD+R dual layer blanks. Here are some more tips (for PS3): 1. Sound must be encoded to AC3. If your mkv file is DTS use a program called MKV2AC3, it's free and should fix your audio problems. 2. I don't use AVCHD in TSMuxeR- I use m2ts- and ImgBurn @ UDF 2.6. This way there are no folders, you just burn the video. 3. Some players only work with certain media- (ex. DVD+R not DVD-R) Should say in the manual. Might fail due to too many reframes, or pyramidal B frames, or something like that. Hope that helps!

@2hottie69 Im sorry but what you just said did not make an ounce of sense to me. erm...from what I do understand...PS3 games are better on 360?...I don't get that...do you mean multiplats? if so...then yeah they are better on 360 but there's a reason. Developers make multiplats to fit xbox 360 hardware specs perfectly and then just simply port it over to PS3. If they made 2 seperate versions of multiplats...the PS3 would DESTROY the xbox version simply because it is more powerful...uncharted 2.

It's actually illegal for for them to deny it's use for the 360 w/o new contracts. @brucenatelee The DVDs that Xbox uses hold about 9GB. the Blu-ray that PS3 uses holds 50GB. If theres more memory on the disc type, and game producers needed to make a bigass game, MGS4 for an example, they would need to go with the Blu-ray.

I love blu ray players. I've had the panasonic dmp bd35 as my first stand alone blu ray player. My first blu ray player was the phat PS3 which i sold and bought the 120GB slim PS3. I now own 2 PS3 slims with 120Gig HDD and a 3D Blu Ray player from samsung model BD-C6900 I can't wait 'till my PS3 slim gets the 3D firmware update too for 3D movie playback. If you don't have 300$ then u should go for the Panasonic DMP BD35 / 60 or 80. The BD35 is discountinued but u should be able to get one under 150$ the BD60 should cost about 175$ and the BD80 for 225$ If i were you i would go for the PS3 (phat) with 40GB hdd you can get one for 200$ 2nd hand. The best option = PS3 slim for 300$ Good luck !!!

I have a regular DVD player you can hook up with an HDMI cable and it also makes my regular DVD's look great. As for the games they look great but I'd rather play old nintendo games on my computer. The criticism on Blu-Ray is EXACTLY the same as the previous criticism on DVD. It was always the same argument: it's expensive. Remember on South Park, when Token brought a DVD copy and Stan and his friends laughed at him because they didn't own a DVD player? Now, everyone owns DVDs. Soon, it'll be the same for Blu-Ray.

@oznapitsari Yes but his PS3 that broke was a defective. Things like that happen. It can happen to any console or any media device. And like some user said,I'd understand if he said he didn't buy any games for his PS3 if it was 2007 but it's 2010 and the whole "PS3 has no games" bullshit has almost completely worn off even for the 360 fanboys. There is no excuse anymore. You either have a passion for games or a passion for a company. I myself like all three consoles and am getting a 360 soon.

Me, I've never had that happen, and no one I knew ever had that happen. Basically, James is the only person to ever reveal such a thing.
