I'm from Detroit and grew up listening to the "Motor City Madman." I now live in KY, but I saw him in St. Louis last year. He had recently turned 60, and still rocked the hell out of the place. He still sounds amazing, looks amazing, puts one a KICK-ASS show. When he did Stranglehold, it was the BEST I ever heard it. His guitar playing is totally mind blowing!! I also love his views and his intelligence. Awesome all around.

yeah Beck out plays clapton... look at clapton early 80's 4 bottles of brandy a day. At this time he didnt even play lead at some of his concersts he was so wasted. even beck has said clapton is the better blues player ( not guitarist)... Get smashed and get on stage and play with z beckster!

@genskompi I don't think you know what that means, at ALL... B.B King and COUNTLESS other musicians have an unlimited amount of respect for Jeff and believe me, it's mutual. Jeff is one of the most humble and kind hearted musicians of all-time, while everybody sits around and wishes they could be him. Go ask Steve Vai, Joe Satriani, Joe Perry, Andy Timmons, Roger Waters, David Gilmour, Eric Clapton, Richie Sambora.. I can name more that cite him as a huge influence if you need that ;)

i only heard one mistake. and he recovered so perfectly it barely stood out. besides, his style is taking risks. when it works hes clearly the best guitarist in the world. the only time theres even a debate about who could be better is when he has an off performance. and even then he usually wins. metal guitarists cant improvise for crap, so if they screw up theyr so called perfect playing, then thats what they are: screwed

Ya brother, tell em how it is...I remember for a long time I didn't dig the blues cause there was the occasional "clam" in there, then something switched, I think it was the first blues music I heard live, then I got it. It's the feeling, you can play a million metal or classical tunes and not get the feeling of one blues.

He'll be in the middle of 6 note riff, decide he's said what needed to be said, & stop cold after the 1st 3 notes, or get a new idea & make it 8 or 9. Once most guys get it their head to play a riff, they're gonna play it just the way they learned it, especially when shredding & tapping's involved: Their hands move faster than their mind can follow.

But even though many of us hated it we shan't blame Nirvana, Pearl Jam, AIC, STP, Soundgarden, Candlebox et al for that. Blame the pop crap that came after that. Blame techno-dance & hip hop. Blame Mariah Carey. Those killed the rock music we grew to love.

I have a dream.many of these old 80's bands in high def in dolby 5.1 or better. T Triumph, April Wine, Loverboy. To bad it'll never happen. That said the Iron Maiden, Rush, Heart and Paul McCartney blu-ray concerts blow my mind away. ZZ Top isn't too bad either.

Triumph came from an era when bands had so much talent the only way for the future generation was to go down. LOL Just kidding 8) Seriously though, there are good bands today, just not any that reach the epic proportions of bands that fit in the same class as bands like Triumph.... Boston, Rush, REO Speedwagon, Styx etc... it was all about playing perfection in the studio and that worked it's way onto the stage... Or was it vice-versa??
